What is Thought Field Therapy?
Thought Field therapy (or TFT for short) is used all around the world, and has been in use for over 30 years. While that may or may not seem like a long time to you, it’s important to note that it is based on principles that are thousands of years old. That’s a long time by any standard! It takes the age-old practice of spiritual energy (e.g. qi) medicine and combines it with new psychotherapeutic theory.
Thought field therapy was developed by clinical psychologist Dr. Roger Callahan, in partnership with his brilliant wife, Joanne Callahan. Together, they have spent decades developing and refining the complexities of this therapy. Through many innovations and expansions of this technique, today we have TFT therapies with effectiveness greater than ever before, specialized to treat a wide variety of illnesses.
While there will always be some bias against alternative therapies from the “powers that be” in conventional medicine, TFT has gained significant popularity and reputation in recent years. This is especially true in terms of its use in treating distress and trauma, and preventing or treating related conditions including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). In fact, thought field therapy has played a major role in the treatment and rehabilitation of survivors from the horrific genocide in Rwanda. TFT, being uniquely versatile, has offered relief to those suffering where other therapies could not or would not reach.

How Does TFT Work?
TFT combines principles of acupuncture and acupressure with a completely unique psychological perspective. It works on the theory that negative emotions stem from perturbed ‘thought fields’, which are linked to the meridians throughout the body that energy travels through (similarly to acupuncture). TFT posits that precise tapping sessions on specific points of the body can manipulate these thought fields and resolve the negative emotions connected to them by restoring balance and movement to the energy in your body.
TFT is so effective because it works at the root causes of illness by providing the unique meridian tapping sequence (referred to as algorithms) that serve as healing codes. This unlocks the scrambled energy dysfunction at a fundamental level. Just like a lock fitting a key, TFT cuts a key that is used to precisely recalibrate your system into a state of balance. For every disorder, a different key is used.

Though Field Therapy is extraordinarily versatile, quick to administer and fast working – not to mention extremely cost efficient. This has made it a uniquely perfect therapy for treating large groups of people suffering from a wide variety of maladies – both physical and psychological – across the globe and even in the most remote parts of the world.

Being so profoundly effective for treating severe psychological distress, thought field therapy is often used in the aftermath of atrocities across the globe to help the survivors. TFT has been used in Kosovo to treat the survivors of the war and genocide in former Yugoslavia. Curing Survivors of Genocide in Rwanda

Not a Placebo Effect
Dr. Robert Pasahow has led some of the most eye-opening research into the effectiveness of TFT. His studies focused on the difficult to manage symptoms of vertigo, tinnitus, and chronic pain. For all of these symptoms, TFT was proven dramatically effective.
Dr. Pasahow, as skeptical as anyone, also researched if the effectiveness of TFT was based on the “placebo effect”. He discovered that whether you believe TFT will cure you or not, it makes no difference. Your symptoms will be relieved regardless. Thus, the placebo effect is not the key element in play for TFT. It is a genuine treatment.

TFT and BalanSoul
I have practiced TFT for many years with fantastic results. It is often the first tool I reach for – and in many cases, the only one I need.
While it may surprise you, some of my patients have been wholeheartedly against any kind of energy medicine, believing that it’s a bunch of nonsense – until they try TFT. To see the looks on their faces after the therapy, a look of utter astonishment and gratitude, as though their whole worldview has just been turned on end in the best possible way – “priceless” doesn’t even begin to describe it.
Some people can go to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for many years and not get much relief.
